Returns Policy

Last updated: 21 June 2026

1.

SHAKE Does Not Process Transactions

SHAKE International is a listing and introduction platform only. We do not process payments between buyers and sellers, hold funds in escrow, or take any role in the financial settlement of equipment sales. Because SHAKE is not a party to any transaction between a buyer and a seller, we cannot accept, process, or mediate returns or refund requests for equipment purchased through listings on our platform.

2.

Returns Are Between Buyer and Seller

All matters relating to returns, refunds, exchanges, or disputes arising from the purchase of equipment are exclusively between the buyer and the seller. The terms on which any return or refund may be offered — including conditions, timeframes, and costs — are set by the seller and should be agreed in writing before a transaction is finalised.

Buyers are strongly encouraged to:

  • Inspect equipment thoroughly before purchase
  • Agree on return conditions in writing with the seller prior to payment
  • Obtain a receipt or proof of purchase directly from the seller
  • Conduct an independent mechanical inspection for high-value purchases
3.

Seller Obligations

Sellers are required by our Acceptable Use Policy to disclose all known material defects at the time of listing. Sellers who knowingly misrepresent the condition, specifications, or title of equipment may have their listings removed and their accounts suspended or terminated.

SHAKE does not guarantee, warrant, or indemnify the accuracy of any information provided by sellers. The platform provides a venue for listings and introductions only.

4.

Consumer Protection Act

Where applicable, South African buyers may have rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA). The applicability of the CPA depends on the nature of the transaction, whether the seller is a business or private individual, and whether the transaction constitutes a consumer transaction as defined in the Act.

SHAKE is not in a position to adjudicate CPA claims. Buyers who believe their CPA rights have been violated should contact the seller directly or seek recourse through the National Consumer Commission or the relevant provincial consumer office.

5.

Subscription Refunds

Seller subscription fees paid to SHAKE via Paystack are non-refundable once a subscription period has commenced, except where:

  • A duplicate payment was made due to a technical error on our platform
  • A payment was processed after a written cancellation request was submitted and acknowledged by SHAKE

To request a subscription refund review, email admin@levier.co.za within 7 days of the payment date with your account details and transaction reference.

6.

Disputes Between Buyers and Sellers

SHAKE does not mediate commercial disputes between buyers and sellers. If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, parties may seek resolution through:

  • The National Consumer Commission (for qualifying consumer transactions)
  • The Consumer Goods and Services Ombud
  • Alternative dispute resolution services
  • Civil litigation through the appropriate South African court
7.

Contact

For platform-related concerns (listing misrepresentation, account issues, duplicate payments), contact us at admin@levier.co.za. We are not able to intervene in or refund transactions between buyers and sellers.
